Wizard of Oz comes to Finney On March 17, 18, and 19, The Charles Finney School will present The Wizard of Oz in all its glory with singing, dancing, and even little Toto.

Auditions were held in December and the cast of over 80 students, grades 3-12, have been rehearsing energetically to prepare for this wonderful production.   The impact this performance will have on the students who comprise the cast, tech crew, sound crew and pit orchestra is immeasurable. Performing under the direction of Carl Wager (formerly Greece Athena Middle School), Holly Burch and Jennifer Blatto-Vallee, our students are discovering and refining their unique God-given talents and exploring the world of theatre.

Director, Holly Burch, shares her heart about how the Lord led her to consider Oz for Finney. “The Wizard of Oz is a story about a girl who thought she had to go somewhere else to get something she already had: home, love, and belonging. As human beings, this is something we do often. God is so good; however, that even when we do go off on our own, He sends people to learn, grow, and journey with us. The answer will always be Jesus.  He is our home, our belonging, and all the love we will ever need. There is no place like home.”

Tickets are available online at and at area Wegmans.

Donations to help underwrite the production costs of the musical may be sent to the school and earmarked FINNEY ANGEL DONATION FOR MUSICAL.
