Pre-Kindergarten at the Charles Finney School
lays a strong foundation for Kindergarten and beyond.
At the Charles Finney School, our Pre-Kindergarten program is designed for students to be in an environment that nurtures and develops growth in their social and interpersonal skills, fosters positive attitudes about learning, and lays the foundation for academic success. The program provides students with the opportunity to prepare for Kindergarten at a slower pace as they grow in maturity. And at the center of all learning, students will develop a deeper knowledge of Christ through daily prayer and devotions, learning Bible stories and scriptures, and various character-building activities.
Social and Interpersonal Skills
Students will be working on many social and interpersonal skills such as playing well with others, honesty, integrity and intrinsic motivation for good behavior in order to prepare them for Kindergarten.
Attitude About Learning and School
In order to develop a desire or motivation to learn upon entering the program, students will focus on goals that are designed to prepare them to become strong Kindergarten students. Students will focus on acquiring a positive attitude about learning, finding multiple solutions to proposed problems and self-regulation of attention and behavior.
Pre-Kindergarten students will be exposed to many academic concepts and will begin basic mastery of skills like letter recognition, listening comprehension, pre-writing/reading, Mathematics and ELA.
