Once you have visited, we hope you will consider applying to The Charles Finney School. Below you will find the steps to apply and a checklist, per school level, to help you track each step.

Steps to Apply

  1. Submit a completed Application for Admission online. The admissions office is available to assist you with the online application if needed.
  2. Submit 2-3 years of testing or evaluations, reports cards, transcripts, IEP/504s, and any other important academic records. Records can be uploaded to the online application.
  3. Submit all personal recommendations and references required per grade. Recommendations and references can be uploaded to the online application or sent through email using the online application.
  4. Students entering 6th through 12th grade must download the Student Questionnaire and complete the forms in their own handwriting. Once completed, it can be uploaded to the online application prior to submission or sent through email to admissions@finneyschool.org.
  5. Complete all assessments and entrance exams required by grade. The admission office will reach out to schedule all assessments.
  6. Pay the $40 application fee. Payment options available online with the online application.

Enrollment Date for the 2025-2026 School Year

Enrollment Date for the 2025-2026 School Year

Closed enrollment (for current Finney families ONLY) for the 2025-2026 school year starts January 7, 2025. Open enrollment for new families begins on February 7, 2025. Pre-K and Kindergarten Developmental Screenings will be scheduled in April and May. NEW students entering 1st through 8th grades will be required to take an academic assessment once an application has been submitted.  The admissions office will reach out to schedule all assessments. The date for Freshman Orientation will be determined in the Spring.

Important Notes

  • The Charles Finney School admits qualified students on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Class sizes are limited. It is important that you apply as early as possible to have the best possible chance of securing your spot in a certain grade and/or in a particular class your child is interested in.
  • Open enrollment begins February 7, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • All applicants are notified by the Admissions Office about acceptance to the school.
  • Additional testing and personal interviews may be required.
  • If your child has not yet visited the school, a personal interview will be required.
